  Dr. Burton Kraus, 82, Delray Beach, Fla., formerly a resident of Somerset, died
  July 11, 2005. Beloved husband of 56 1/2 years of Anita Brooks Kraus. Devoted
  father of Janice Ruth Kraus, Pittsburgh, and Beth Kraus Weinstein, fiancˇe of
  William Elnick, Havertown. Loving grandfather of Nicholas Weinstein. Dr. Kraus
  graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1949 and was a
  practicing optometrist for 51 years in Somerset with a branch office in
  Meyersdale. He was a life member of the American Optometric and Pennsylvania
  Optometric Associations and the Florida Association of Retired Optometrists.
  Dr. Kraus was past president of the Somerset Kiwanis. A World War II Army Air
  Force veteran, he was stationed in French West Africa and was a member of
  American Legion Post 181 and VFW Post 554, a member of Masonic Corinthian Lodge
  573, Blue Lodge of Pittsburgh, Somerset Blue Lodge 358, Jaffa Shrine and the
  Scottish Rite Lodge, Altoona. Service1 p.m. Friday at Ralph Schugar Chapel
  Inc., 5509 Centre Ave., Shadyside. Visitation one hour prior to service.
  Interment Tree of Life Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to Somerset
  Hospital "In Touch" Hospice, 1590 N. Center Ave., Somerset, PA 15501 or a
  charity of the donor's choice
