She had been in poor health for some time. Her death was caused by a cerebral hemmorhage. She was born at Milford Twp., Somerset County, on June 29, 1870, and was one of ten children born to David and Louise (Critchfield) Schaff. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Crossen, Oroville, Calif., and Miss Sue Schaff, Addison, Pa. She was united in marriage with Allen D. Kregar (deceased) on October 27, 1891. The following children survive: David S., of Laughlintown; Mrs. Louise Higgins, John, Maude and Mary at home. Two children preceded her in death. She is also survived by three grandchildren. She was a member of the Methodist Church since a young woman, and was always interested in church work and was a regular attendant at Sunday School. Mrs. Kregar was a kind, devoted mother and loved by all who knew her. Funeral services were held at the Jersey Baptist Church where she attended Sunday School when a child. She was laid to rest in the church cemetery. Rev. H. Wills Hartsock, officiating. The funeral was under the direction of D. S. Gump & Son of Everett, Pa. Meyersdale Republican, July 12, 1945
