Kregar of Draketown, son of the late Fred C. and Mary Ann Phillippi Kregar, died suddenly from a cerebral hemorrhage Monday morning, Feb. 26. Mr. Kregar was a native of the Draketown district, one of the old and historic settlements in Somerset County, and a descendant of one of the pioneer families. He was a farmer by occupation and well liked and known. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edna Hyatt Kregar, also a descendant of a pioneer family, and the following children: Harry and Glenn, Confluence; Mrs. Ruth McNabb, Mrs. Bertha Shea, Mrs. Dotty Hunter, Carl Kregar, Mildred Kregar and Mrs. Gladys Whisner, all of Cumberland, Md., and Charles and Myra, at home. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Alma Rush, of Connellsville, and Mrs. J. E. Vanneman of Confluence. Funeral services were held at the Jersey Church at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, following a short service at the home. The funeral was a large one, the Kregar and Enos families being kin, relatives attended both funerals. Rev. S. A. Handley of Indian Head, pastor of the Church of God, had charge of the service. Undertaker Brooke of Indian Head had charge of the burial. Meyersdale Republican, March 7, 1940
