Kreger, 74, of Mabie, W. Virginia, died Dec. 18, 1989, at the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center in Clarksburg, where he had been a patient for three months. A former resident of Torrance, Calif., he had resided in Mabie since 1969, following his retirement as a field worker in Syracuse, N.Y. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater of Operations. Born Dec. 26, 1908 in Confluence, he was a son of the late Samuel B. Kreger and Frances (Lingfielder) Kreger. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Bessie (Chewning) Kittle Kreger; one step daughter, Mrs. Alice Kittle, Elkins, W.Virginia; two stepsons, Roy Kittle, Torrance; Lester Kittle, Eddysville, Ky.; three sisters, Mrs. Betty Stitcher and Mrs. Mary Ellen McNabb, both of Cumberland, Maryland; Mrs. Lorraine Jones, Frederick, Maryland; two brothers, William Kreger and Joseph Kreger, both of Cumberland; several nieces and nephews, and several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. One sister and three brothers preceded him in death. Services were conducted Dec. 29 at the F.E. Runner Funeral Home, Elkins. Interment was in the Cassity Cemetery at Cassity.
