LIZZIE IDELLA KRETCHMAN

  Mrs. Lizzie Idella Kretchman, 71, widow of the late Harvey Kretchman, 
Meyersdale, died early Sunday morning, July 18, in the Community Hospital, 
Somerset, where she had been a patient for six weeks.  She was a daughter of the 
late Samuel D. and Susan (Walker) Gnagey of Summit Township.
  After the death of the wife of W. H. Kretchman, former superintendent of 
Somerset County schools, who was her sister, she closed her own home on North 
Street in Meyersdale temporarily and went to Somerset to keep house for her 
brother-in-law, which she did until his death about a year ago.  Since then she 
was again living in her own home until recently when illness made it necessary 
for her to enter a hospital.
  Mrs. Kretchman is survived by one brother, Daniel S. Gnagey of Trans-
Meyersdale.
  Funeral services were conducted at the deceased's home at 4 o'clock Tuesday 
afternoon, with Rev. DeWitt Miller, pastor of the Church of the Brethren, of 
which she was a member, officiating.  Interment was made in Union Cemetery under 
the direction of H. R. Konhaus.
