Kubis Jr., 70, Confluence RD 3, died May 19, 1985, in Siemon Lakeview Manor, Somerset. Born Dec. 26, 1914, in Kearney (Bedford County), a son of the late Steve and Mary (Grech) Kubis. Survived by his wife, Margaret (Cassie) Kubis; a daughter, Rosemary Fike, Confluence; two grandchildren; three sisters: Mrs. Catherine Cybert, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Helen Boka, Levittown; and Mrs. Victoria Cuff, North Randolph, Mass.; and a brother, Raymond, Aliquippa. Preceded in death by three sisters. A Somerset County area businessman for 48 years, he owned and operated Steve's Restaurant in Confluence for the past 38 years. Member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Somerset; Fraternal Order of Eagles; and the Turkeyfoot Fish and Game Association. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence. Mass of Christian Burial from St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Somerset, at 11 a.m Wednesday, with the Rev. Samuel Tomaselli officiating.
