Kulka Sr., 84, Stonycreek Street, Boswell, died July 24, 2002, at home. Born Dec. 15, 1917 in Boswell, son of Michael and Victoria (Leszkiewicze) Kulka. Preceded in death by parents; infant son Anthony Jr.; sisters Mary Klara and Anne Gurzenda, and brothers Frank, Joseph, Charles and Walter. Survived by wife of 53 years the former Frances "Pins" Calderone; daughters Mary Ann, married to Terry Paxton Melanie, married to Gregory Cavallo, and Victoria, all of Boswell, Toni Lee, married to John Gontis, Friedens RD, and Natalie, Columbus, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Eric, married to Melissa Flowers; Charles and Clinton Gontis; Nicole and Dawn Paxton; Gary and Haley Matsko, and Stephanie Cavallo; and one great-granddaughter, Abigail Gontis. Member of All Saints Catholic Parish, Boswell Post 461 American Legion, and the Jenner Rod and Gun Club. Army veteran of World War II. Retired employee of the former Johnstown Works, U.S. Steel Corporation. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where vigil for the deceased will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Friday at All Saints Church, Boswell. Rev. Father Martin Breski, OFM Conv. celebrant. Committal Mt. Carmel Cemetery, near Jennerstown with graveside military rite in charge of the Somerset County Honor Guard.
