Searching parties dragged the river on Sunday and Monday, but at this writing no trace of the missing woman has been found. Mrs. Kurtz had been melancholy for some time and on several occasions she had threatened to jump into the river. She retired with her husband at the usual time on Saturday night but when her husband awoke at two o'clock on Sunday morning she was missing. Meyersdale Commercial, Nov. 20, 1913 --- BODY OF MRS. KURTZ FOUND - the body of a woman, undoubtedly that of Mrs. Harvey Kurtz Jr., who disappeared from her home in Confluence on the morning of November 16, was located on Tuesday in the deep pool of the Yough at the foot of the Ohio Pyle falls. The identification was established by the fact that one of the fingers held a ring that Mrs. Kurtz is known to have worn. The body was seen first by John Burk who was on the opposite side of the river when he noticed an object floating around in the pool. He organized a searching party, crossed the river, and reached a point sufficiently close to determine that it was a woman's body. Later a better identification was established. Meyersdale Commercial, Dec. 18, 1913 --- The funeral of the late Mrs. Ella Kurtz was held from her home on Friday morning. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Hopkins of the Christian Church. Interment was made in the Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Kurtz was 50 years old and was born and reared near Bridwell. Meyersdale Commercial, Dec. 25, 1913
