  MAJ. ROBERT KURTZ
  
    Major Robert C. Kurtz, 78, of Confluence, died Oct. 1, 1975, at his
  home.  Born March 27, 1897, in Confluence, he was a son of Harvey Jr.
  and Ella (Morrison) Kurtz.  He was preceded in death by his wife, the
  former Katherine Eyler.
    Surviving are two children: Mrs. Jean Kirst, Sewickley; and Robert
  H. Kurtz of Hingham, Mass.; four grandchildren, Joseph D. Kirst III,
  Robert Hans Kirst, Anne Louise Kirst and Robin Kimberly Kurtz, and a
  brother, Lawrence Kurtz of Confluence.
    He was a World War I veteran and a member of Post 946, American
  Legion, for 55 years.  He was also a member of Meyersdale Lodge 554,
  F&AM, and the Confluence Volunteer Fire Department.
    Funeral service was held Friday afternoon in Humbert Funeral Home,
  Confluence, with Rev. Arthur Gotjen officiating.  Interment in
  Addison Cemetery.
