(Somerset, Pa.): March 16, 1892 Daniel Lepley was born August 12, 1799, and died March 7, 1892, in the ninety-third year of his age. The childhood, youth and manhood, to the age of about fifty years, of Grandfather Lepley, were spent in his native township, Southampton, this county… In his early manhood he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Beal, also of Southampton township. Ten children was the result of this union, three sons and seven daughters. One son, Adam C. Lepley, at whose residence he spent the latter years of his life, and five daughters still survive him. Their grandchildren, at the time of his death, numbered 80, and the great grandchildren 44. His wife died in the yesr 1874, having seen ail her children except one attain to manhood and womanhood. Several years later he married Elizabeth Hoffmire (Wilhelm.) Death soon severed the union again and claimed his second wife. Thus he was left to finish his earthly pilgrimage alone. Grandfather Lepley was a member of the Lutheran church… Followed by a large number of friends and relatives, his remains were laid to rest in the Mt. Carmel cemetery by the side of those of his first wile. May his ashes rest in peace. The funeral took place March 9, 1892.
