Born April 16, 1927, at Brysonia, Pa. Preceded in death by parents, Luther M. and Ethel (Pennypacker) Lady. Survived by his wife of 46 years, Eleanor Steele Lady; brother, Herbert P., married to the former Margaret Grove of Biglerville, Pa.; and the following children: Jonathan, married to the former Pamalee Barnhart, Arendtsville, Pa.; Timothy, married to the former Julia Mulligan of Baltimore, Md.; Ann, married to Randy Ferry of Somerset; and Cynthia, married to Thomas Hamelinck of Warren, Pa.; and six grandchildren: Ira, Matthew and Kevin Lady, and Joshua and Tyler Ferry and Caitlyn Hamelinck. Graduate of Arendtsville Vocational School in 1945, Susquehanna University in 1948 and the Lutheran Theological Seminary of Gettysburg in 1951. During his 45 years of ministry, he served a four-church parish in South York County, a six-church parish in southern Virginia, served at Wertzville/Carlisle Springs parish, three years as Intern Supervisor in Bloomsburg and 13 years as Assistant to the Bishop of the Central Pa. Synod. Since his retirement, Rev. Lady was serving the Mt. Tabor and Mt. Carmel congregations in southern Somerset County. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at Messiah Lutheran Church in New Centerville, Route 281 south of Somerset. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at the church, with a light lunch to follow.
