  LAFFERTY
  
    Ira Ernest Lafferty, 97, of Friedens RD 1, formerly of Somerset RD
  5, died May 17, 1996, at Somerset Patriot Manor, Somerset.  Born Nov.
  22, 1898, in Friendsville, Md.  Son of the late James C. and Emma J.
  (Tipton) Lafferty.  Also preceded in death by wife, Grace Elizabeth
  (Buratty) Lafferty, who died on Jan. 9, 1994; son Harold E. "Bud"
  Lafferty; and brothers Samuel, Charles and Clayton Lafferty, survived
  by these children: James M. Lafferty, Somerset; Mrs. Robert K. (Lois)
  Gastiger, Friedens RD 1; granddaughters Mrs. Paul (Carol) Fisher, New
  Brighton, Pa., and Sheila Gastiger, Pittsburgh; great-grandchildren
  Mrs. Donald (Gretchen) Young and Sean Fisher; and
  great-great-grandchildren Sadie and Julia Young.  Retired employee of
  the PA turnpike.  Friends will be received from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the
  Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where services will be
  conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday with the Rev. James R. Ling
  officiating.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
