  LAFFERTY
  
  John C. Lafferty, 83, of East Main Street, Somerset, died Jan. 3,
  1976* at his home.  Born July 29, 1893 in Somerset County, son of the
  late George and Anna Tipton Lafferty.  Preceded in death by his wife,
  the former Florence Meyers, two daughters, two sisters, and two
  brothers.  Survived by a daughter, Mrs. Helen Fox of Somerset; a
  granddaughter, and a great-granddaughter.  He was a member of Trinity
  Lutheran Church; Somerset Post 554 VFW; Junior OUAM Lodge Number 19,
  K. of P.  He was hospital chairman of the Cooties, veteran of World
  War I, and a retired B and O Railroad clerk.  Friends will be
  received after 7 p.m. today (Tuesday) in the Richard E. Hauger
  Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday
  with the Rev. H. James Meyers officiating.  Interment, Husband
  Cemetery.
