  LAFFERTY, Ray Silas 11/25/06 Daily American
    
  Ray Silas Lafferty, 82, formerly of Bedford, went to be with the Lord Nov. 23, 2006, at
  the home of his daughter Connie Michael in Frederick , Md., surrounded by his entire
  family. Born July 30, 1924, in Fairhope, a son of Raymond Reubin and Alverta Mae (Adams)
  Lafferty. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Mildred Marie (Lafferty) Shippey;
  brother, Walter James Lafferty; granddaughter, Barbara Lee Lafferty; and a son-in-law,
  Ricky N. Michael. Survived by his wife of 63 years, the former Thelma Lorene Poorbaugh;
  children, Roger L. Lafferty, married to the former Janet Martin, and Connie Michael, all
  of Frederick; grandchildren, Laura Beall and husband, David; Kelli Jenkins and husband,
  Bill; Heather Rock and husband, Tim; Heidi Hanes and husband, Brian; and Christina Smith
  and husband, Leroy; great-grandchildren, Steffanie Michael, Miriah Trail, Alexis Curbow,
  Tyler Hanes, Chloe Hanes and Ava Jenkins. Also survived by brother, Reubin Raymond
  Lafferty. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Bedford, and the Bedford Kiwanis
  Club. A World War II Army veteran. Employed by Agway for 39 years. After retirement, he
  worked at the Bedford Fairgrounds for 7 years. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4
  and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held 11
  a.m. Tuesday. Interment at Union Cemetery, Meyersdale. In lieu of flowers, donations may
  be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 106 W. Penn St., Bedford, PA 15522.
