Lafferty, 78, Friedens RD 2, died May 22, 1990, at Somerset Hospital. Born Nov. 21, 1911, in Somerset Township, son of late Charles Albert and Elnora (Saylor) Lafferty. Preceded in death by sisters, Mae Sharp, Charlotte Lafferty and Mary Lafferty. Survived by wife, Florence J. (Beeghly) Young-Lafferty; stepson, James D. Young, Tucson, Ariz., and step-granddaughter, Heather. Brother of Clarence E. Lafferty and Mrs. Ann R. Gordon, both of Gainesville, Fla.; Robert L. Lafferty, Normalville RD 1; Mrs. Lillian Jean Becker, Parma Heights, Ohio, and William E. Lafferty, Bakersville. Also survived by aunt and uncle, Grace and Ira Lafferty, Somerset RD 5. Retired employee of Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and PennDOT. Army veteran of World War II. Member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Rev. David S. Jack officiating.
