Born April 2, 1934, in Friedens, he is the son of the late Clarence B. and Elizabeth (Horner) Lamberson. He is preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; and an infant sister. He is survived by his wife, the former Myrna A. Pascual, to whom he was married for 20 years; children; Cynthia Kay Main and husband, Robert L. Main Jr., Charlotte, N.C.; Pamela Jean Lamberson, Somerset; Karen L. Samole and husband, Thomas, Berlin; and Judith Ann Lamberson, Parrish, Fla.; grandchildren, Robert L. Main IV, Margaret E. Samole, Anna N. Samole, Anthony W. Horton, Virginia Campbell, and Andrea A. Lamberson; sisters, Jeanne Lamberson Walker, Friedens; and Emma Odessa Lamberson Garlitz, Sarver; and brothers, William H. Lamberson, Champion; and C. David Lamberson Esq., Naples. He was a 1952 graduate of Somerset Township High School in Friedens and a 1958 graduate of Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster with a B.S. degree in Economics. Herbert was an entrepreneur and was interested in domestic and global business and politics. He was president and chief executive officer of The Cardinal Mining Co, Cardinal Coal Refining Co., Superior Carbon Fuel Sales Inc., Cardinal Farms, and numerous other related companies, all involved in some aspect of the mining and marketing of coal. He was an avid reader of biographies of renowned world leaders. He enjoyed travel and took many trips to Alaska to hunt and fish. He and Myrna traveled through much of the United States in their motor home. They were also boaters and traveled to many distant places on their yacht. Herbert also enjoyed scuba diving. He piloted his own airplane and used it for his trips to Alaska. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church in Somerset, the Rev. Daniel Nicksich officiating, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment at Friedens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the First Christian Church at 139 E. Main St., Somerset, PA 15501.
