She was the wife of the late Edward Lambert, who preceded her in death about 15 years or more ago. She had been in poor health for about ten years, and was a citizen of Salisbury since about 1875, the last few years living with her son. She died of gangrene, and her body was brought here by a Latrobe mortician and directly taken to the Salisbury I.O.O.F. Cemetery and buried by the side of her late husband's grave, last Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Mrs. Lambert was a devout Christian and though no children were born to her and her husband, they reared the adopted son aforesaid, and also an adopted daughter, May, who became the wife of Fred J. Harris, and preceded Mrs. Lambert in death. Mr. and Mrs. Lambert were great lovers of children, and adopted two when both were infants, giving them a good home and helped them to become good citizens, a credit to themselves and to their foster parents. Mrs. Lambert was Miss Annie Matheny before she was married; her father, a Civil War veteran, died soon after the war, and her mother, the late Mrs. Mary Matheny, was a resident of Salisbury for many years.
