Lambert, Sr., 69, of Central City, RD 1, died June 27, 1986, at Greensburg Nursing and Convalescent Home. Born March 30, 1917, in Shade Township, son of the late Guy S. and Jenny (Mowry) Lambert. Also preceded in death by daughter, Caroline. Survived by his wife, the former June (Hare), whom he married on June 25, 1942; and these children: Mrs. Eugene (Sara) Chelen, New Alexandria; Mrs. Richard (Rebecca) Johnson of Seattle, Wash.; Major Charles Lambert Jr., married to the former Sheryl Close, of Fayetteville, N.C.; Mrs. Thomas (Carol) Brimhall of Salt Lake City, Utah; and six grandchildren. He was a brother of: Mrs. Erma Halverson of Somerset; Alvin, married to the former Jean Altfather of Berlin. He was a retired Shade Township farmer and sawmill operator, an army veteran of W.W. II, having served as a captain of the Corps of Engineers in the Pacific. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Buckstown, Central City American Legion and V.F.W., Shade Lions Club and served as the Shade Township Civil Defense Director and Auditor. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home in Stoystown. There will be viewing at the Buckstown Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. on Monday, the Rev. Merlin O. Sjoberg. Interment, Buckstown Cemetery. Graveside veteran services conducted by Central City American Legion and V.F.W. If friends desire, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of Flowers.
