Fred Lambert, a 25-year resident of Georgetown, Calif., passed away on June 11, 2002, after a long illness. Fred was born on Dec. 10, 1934 in Friedens. He was the son of J. Fred Lambert and Mary (Barron) Lambert-Walker. Preceded in death by parents and step-father Phillip H. Walker. Survived by wife Beverly (Van Demon) Lambert of 41 years; daughter Laura Harper and son-in-law Stephen, son Heath Lambert, grandchildren Devon and Courtney Harper, his sisters Jacqueline Kimmel, of Friedens, Edwinna Urban and Joanna Menser, of Santa Ana, Calif. He was a 1952 graduate of Somerset High School. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean conflict. Later he moved to Georgetown where he worked as a Land Surveyor and for the Department of Forestry as a real property manager until he retired in June 2000. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. June 24 at the Georgetown Community United Methodist Church with Rev. Karen Darling officiating. Private interment will be at the Georgia Slide Cemetery.
