Born Aug. 11, 1911, in Lambertsville, a son of Orange Wesley and Lottie Blanche (Buchanan) Lambert. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Mary Grace Landis; brother, James; sisters, Wilma, Ruth, Hazel and Joan; and an infant son, Wayne Lee Lambert. Survived by children, Lynn (Dorie) Lambert, Somerset; Sylvia (Charles) Barron, Somerset; and Rodger Lambert, Johnstown; grand-children, Sharon Atchison, Todd Barron, Holly Wetherholt, Shawyna Lambert, Tyler Lambert, Tasia Mostoller, Kate Sontag and Jolee Brindle; eight great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. Vernon retired from the Pa. Turnpike Commission after 28 years of service at the Allegheny Mountain Tunnel. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He did masonry work and painting and also drove school bus for the Shanksville-Stonycreek School District. He was a former member of the Roxbury Sportsman Club. Vernon was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Shanksville. In his later years he enjoyed drawing and painting. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Additional viewing will be from 10 until the time of service at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Shanksville. The Rev. Robert Way officiating. Interment at Walker Cemetery.
