  LANDEFELD
  
    Etha S. Landefeld, 102, Garrett RD 1, died July 14, 1998, at home.  Born
  Aug. 27, 1895, in Brothersvalley Township, daughter of James Madison and
  Ada Elizabeth (Coleman) Shober.  Preceded in death by parents; husband,
  Walter L.; sisters: Lucy and Stella Shober, Melda Ringler, Iva Jeffrey,
  Etta Kendall, Helen Ward and Ada Marie Caler; brothers: Clayton, Gordon,
  Miles, Willis, Galen, Jack and Earl Shober.  Also, five stepsisters and
  four stepbrothers.  Survived by brother, Drummond Shober of Vineland, N.J.;
  also numerous nieces and nephews.  She was a graduate of Garrett High School
  and California Normal School.  She taught at a number of one-room schools in
  Somerset County and also in West Newton and Pittsburgh.  She was a member of
  the Beachdale Church of the Brethren, charter member of the Farm Women. 
  Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner
  Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Rev.
  Larry Black officiating.  Interment, Beachdale Cemetery.
