Landis, 67, of Berlin R.D. 1, died Monday evening at his late home, following a long illness. He was born in Stonycreek Township, a son of Abraham G. and Harriet Speicher Landis, and was a carpenter by trade. He was married to Harriet Walker, who survives, with the following children: Merle Landis, Berlin R.D. 1; Victor Landis, Akron, Ohio; Mrs. Vernon Lambert, Shanksville; also by seven grandchildren and these sisters and a brother; Mrs. Alice Stull, Berlin R.D. 1; Mrs. Susan Schrock, Somerset R.D.; and Edmund Landis, Friedens. He was a member of the Glade Reformed Church and of Somerset Lodge, I.O.O.F. Funeral services will be held Thursday Nov. 7, at 2:00 p.m. at the Landis home, with his pastor, Rev. Arthur Miller, in charge, assisted by Rev. R. R. Richards of the Glade Lutheran Church. Interment in the Walker cemetery, Shanksville, under direction of Johnson and Son.
