Landis, 85, of Jenners died June 10, 1975 in Somerset Community Hospital. Born Nov. 10, 1889 in Brothersvalley Township, a son of the late John and Martha Christner Landis. Preceded in death by first wife Nettie Sheeler and one half-brother. Survived by his second wife the former Carrie Maust Walpusk; these step-children: Mrs. Vera Martain, Tehran, Iran; Mrs. Eugene (Winnie) Kidd, Forrestville, Md.; Mrs. Warren (Janet) Kister, Somerset RD 5; Lt. Col. Carl Walpusk, Coraopolis; 13 step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; one half-sister, Mrs. Martha McCaffrey of Somerset. Member of the Laurel Mountain Grace Brethren Church, Christian Businessman's Committee, the UMW Local 1742, Jenner Grange, and was a veteran of World War I. Friends will be received after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home. Services Thursday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Harry Nonnemacher officiating.
