All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ _________________________________________ CHARLES LANDIS Charles Landis, aged 37, a resident of Berlin, an employee of the Mountain Coal Co., died on Thursday, Jan. 8, in the Hazel McGilvery Hospital, Meyersdale, following a brief illness of pneumonia. He had been a patient at the hospital for two days. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pauline Landis, and the following children: Charles, Martha, John and George, all at home with their mother. He is also survived by his father, John Landis of Meyersdale, and four sisters - Mrs. George Bisel of Somerset; Mrs. Cora Wheeler, of Rochester, N.Y., and Mrs. Louis Walker and Mrs. Floyd Phenes of Corning, N.Y. The body was prepared for burial by Johnson & Son of Berlin. Funeral services were conducted at the parental home of the deceased by Rev. B. A. Black, pastor of Amity Reformed Church of Meyersdale. Interment was made in the Union Cemetery, Meyersdale. Meyersdale Republican, January 15, 1931
