Landis, 85, East Main Street, Somerset, died Nov. 8, 1993, in his home. Born May 16, 1908, in Somerset Township, a son of the late David and Ida (Faust) Landis. Preceded in death by parents and one son, Leroy C. Landis. Survived by his wife, Verda Rebecca (Lehman) Landis; two daughters: Phyllis, wife of Harry Klein, and Ruby, wife of Richard Leer, both of Somerset; 10 grandchildren: Sherry Nancarvis, Lou Ann Bowersox, Tammy Fencil, Susan Thompson, Roger Leer, Randy Leer, Rich Leer, Ronald Leer, Carol Rhodes and Robert Leer, and nine great-grandchildren. He was a member of St. Paul's Ridge Brethren Church. Retired painter and raised and sold Christmas trees in Somerset for many years. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday (today) in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev.
