EMMA LANDIS

  Mrs. Emma Jane Landis, 81, died late Thursday night at the home of her son-in-
law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Layding, of Berlin, where she had made her 
home for some time.  She was a widow of Jesse Landis.
  A native of Stonycreek Township, she spent her entire life in Somerset County.  
She was born October 13, 1859.  Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Hulda Kamp of 
Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Layding, and a son, Norman Landis, residing in California.  
She also leaves five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
  Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at Berlin Brethren 
Church by the Rev. N. V. Leatherman.  Interment will be in the Berlin I.O.O.F. 
Cemetery under the direction of Johnson and Son, Berlin morticians.
