  LANDIS
  
    Gertrude "Gertie" Landis, 94, Scalp Level, formerly of Somerset,
  died Feb. 27, 1998, in the Church of the Brethren Home, Scalp
  Level.  Born June 24, 1903, down over the White Horse Mountain, a
  daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George McIntyre.  Preceded in death by her
  parents, seven half-sisters, husband, Albert Landis Sr., daughter,
  Shirley and a grandson.  Survived by these children: Anna Rhoads,
  Somerset; Rosella Barndt, Friedens; Edna Gibbons, Stoystown; Albert
  Jr., Janet Cramer and Donald, all of Somerset; 14 grandchildren, 17
  great-grandchildren.  Member of the Somerset Church of the
  Brethren.  She worked for many years at Mel's Restaurant, Somerset. 
  Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. today (Saturday) and 2-4 and
  7-9 p.m. Sunday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where
  service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Roger L.
  Forry officiating.  Interment, Husband Cemetery.
