Landis, 96, of Berlin RD 1, died March 19, 1980, at his residence. He was born Dec. 1, 1883, in Stonycreek Township, a son of Samuel and Mary (Koontz) Landis. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, the former Elizabeth Berkley, who died in 1978; six brothers and one sister. He is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Richard (Helen) Willkow, Berlin RD 1; and Mrs. William (Ruth) Arch of North Hills, Pittsburgh; and one foster daughter: Mrs. Mary Flamm, Berlin; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He had been director emeritus of the National Bank of Western Pennsylvania, having been elected in 1929. He was a life-long member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Berlin, where he served as elder and deacon. Friends were received at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, Berlin, where services were conducted with the Rev. Charles Sigler officiating. Interment Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
