  John G. Landis, 89, Berlin, formerly of Stonycreek Township, died
  Nov. 2, 1987, at Maple Mountain Manor, Berlin.  Born Sept. 4, 1898,
  in Stonycreek Township, son of Jefferson and Emma (Weigle) Landis. 
  Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Helen Zerfoss;
  brothers: Morris, Harry, George and Lewis; sisters: Grace Mowry, Ruth
  Smith and Bessie.  Survived by step-daughters: Mrs. James (Betty)
  Pritts, Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Harry (Jenny) Vought, Meyersdale; and 12
  step-grandchildren.  Brother of Leroy, married to Blanche Hillegass of
  Friedens RD 2; Everett, married to Irene Hemminger, Stoystown RD 3;
  and Mrs. Merle (Nannie) Long, Friedens RD 1.  Retired from PennDOT
  and formerly attended St. Mark Lutheran Church, Shanksville.  Family
  will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home,
  Stoystown, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev.
  Ralph Landis officiating.  Interment, Walker Cemetery, Shanksville.
