JOHN L. LANDIS

  John L. Landis, 69, a well-known farmer of Stonycreek Township, died 
Wednesday, March 23, at his home.  He was born March 16, 1880, a son of Samuel 
and Mary (Koontz) Landis.  He spent his entire life in Stonycreek Township.
  He is survived by his wife, Susan Glass Landis; a son, Leroy Landis of Berlin 
RD 1, and a daughter, Mrs. John Long, Berlin RD 4.  He is also survived by these 
brothers: Milton and Harry E. Landis of Berlin, Horace M. and Ralph Landis of 
Berlin RD 1, and Robert Landis of Newport News, Va.
  Mr. Landis was a member of Trinity Reformed Church.
  Funeral services were held Friday at 2:30 p.m., at his home.  The Rev. Ira R. 
Harkins of the Berlin Reformed Church officiated, assisted by the Rev. R. R. 
Richard of Shanksville Lutheran Church.  Interment was made in I.O.O.F. 
Cemetery, Berlin, under direction of Johnson & Son.
