Born Oct. 4, 1903, in Stonycreek Township, son of Jefferson and Emma (Weigle) Landis. Preceded in death by parents, brothers: Morris, Harry, George, Everett, John and Lewis; sisters: Grace Mowry, Ruth Smith and Bessie Landis. Survived by his wife of 65 years, the former Blanche Marie Hillegass; and these children: Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley) Harness, Quincy, Ill.; Mrs. Louis (Nancy) Urbina, Camoapa, Nicaragua; Richard, Friedens RD 2; and Mrs. Dwight (Sue Ellen) Wagner, Berlin RD 1; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Brother of Mrs. Merle (Nannie) Long, Friedens. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Retired stone mason and brick layer. Member of Unity United Church of Christ where he was an elder emeritus. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing at Unity U.C.C. from 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Jay Shaffer officiating.
