  MILDRED E. LANDIS
  
  Mildred E. Landis, 84, Shanksville, died Jan. 22, 1984, at Somerset
  Community Hospital.  Born Aug. 8, 1899, in Shanksville, daughter of
  Watson J. and Sadie (Baldwin) Brant.  Preceded in death by parents;
  brothers: Jonathan, Frank, Clyde and Herman; and sister, Nettie. 
  Survived by sons: Alfred J., Towson, Md.; Donald R., Shanksville; and
  Eugene B., Berlin; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. 
  Sister of: Mrs. Nina Phenicie of Mifflintown; and Rachel, Lebanon,
  Ohio.  Life-long member of the Shanksville United Methodist 
  Church, and a member of the Shanksville Silver and Gold Club.  Family
  will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral
  Home, Stoystown.  Remains will be removed to Shanksville United
  Methodist Church to lie in state from 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m.
  Tuesday, with the Rev. Michael L. Holt officiating.  Interment, Walker
  Cemetery, Shanksville.
