  LANDIS
  
    William E. Landis, 77, of Somerset, formerly of Berlin and
  Bluffton, Ohio, died Oct. 2, 1994, in Somerset.  Born March 28, 1917,
  in Stonycreek Township, son of Norman A. and Edna (Engle) Landis. 
  Preceded in death by parents and wife, the former Mary Elizabeth
  Altfather.  Survived by daughters, Bonnie, married to Richard
  Cartwright, Bluffton, Ohio, and Sharon Landis Young of Toledo, Ohio;
  grandsons - Richard W. and Myles J. Cartwright.  Brother of Ernest
  "Champ" Landis of Berlin; Hazel Knepper, Berlin RD 1; Robert Landis
  and Betty Cober, both of Berlin RD 3, and Norman Landis Jr., of Fort
  Myers, Fla.  Retired from former Roy Walker & Sons of Somerset. 
  World War II Navy veteran.  Member of St. John's UCC, Bluffton, Ohio,
  and Bluffton Senior Citizens.  Family will receive friends from 3 to 5
  and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service
  will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Rev. Timothy E. Resh.  Interment,
  Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton, Ohio.  Memorial contributions may be
  given to In Touch Hospice, 651 S. Center Ave. Somerset, Pa. 15501.
