  William H. Landis, 69, Boswell RD 1, died May 3, 1987, at Memorial
  Hospital in Johnstown.  Born Dec. 7, 1917, in Boswell, son of Elmer
  F. and Elsie (McKenzie) Landis.  Preceded in death by parents; first
  wife the former Beatrice M. Vergovey, who died Oct. 26, 1978, and
  stepdaughter, Sandra Reed, who died in 1959.  Survived by widow, the
  former Hazel (Thomas) Yoder Stufft; sons: William J. "B.J.,"
  Ebensburg RD 3; Eugene "Elfie," Holsopple [sic] RD 2; Barry, married
  to the former Yvonne Lohr, Boswell RD 1; stepson, Vernon "Buddy"
  Yoder, married to the former Clara Supanick, Somerset RD 2;
  stepdaughters: Jackie, wife of Michael McKinley, Friedens RD 2; Lori,
  wife Dennis Hutchison, Johnstown; nine grandchildren; two
  great-grandchildren.  Brother of Carl, North Huntingdon, and Elmer
  "Fuzz," Bedford.  Member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, where
  he served as lay leader; Central Pennsylvania Police Officials
  Association; the Greater Ferndale Sportsmen Association and Jenner
  Rod and Gun Club.  Retired security guard at Bethlehem Steel, former
  employee of Boswell Lumber Company and 1937 graduate of Boswell High
  School.  Friends received 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
  Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where service
  will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday the Rev. Warren Cravotta
  officiating.  Interment, Jenner Crossroads Cemetery.
