    LANE
    
    Jacob S. Lane, 95, of Hay Street, Berlin, died April 3, 1974.  He
  was born in Brothersvalley Township on Sept. 15, 1878, the son of the
  late Walter S. and Sadie (Zimmerman) Lane.  Preceded in death by his
  wife, the former Ida Suder in 1953.  Survived by these children: 
  Mrs. Frank (Hilda) Apple of Fallen Timber, Pa.; Frank S. of Berlin;
  Bernie of Forestville, Md.; and Ralph R. of Frostproof, Fla.  He was
  a member of the United Church of Christ, Berlin, former fire chief
  and oldest member of the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department.  Friends
  are being received at the Johnson and Son Funeral Home, Berlin, where
  services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Charles W.
  Sigler officiating.  Interment, Berlin IOOF Cemetery.  Memorial
  service Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Berlin
  Volunteer Fire Department.
