Langley, 71, of Davis Avenue, Somerset, died July 23, 1998 at his residence. Born Feb. 14, 1927 in Wilkes Barre. Son of the late Earl B. "Jack" Langley and Margaret L. (Baird) Kessler. Preceded in death by half-brother Philip E. Langley and a brother Lt. Donald B. Langley. Survived by: his wife of 50 years the former Frances Berkey; sons, Maj. Donald B. Langley, retired from the U.S. Marines, Bloomington, Minn., Scott B. Langley of Littleton, Col., and Morgan J. Langley of San Diego, Calif.; two grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchild. Veteran of World War II and the Korean War having served in the Merchant Marines. Retired after 30 years as a salesman for Mennen Co. in Morristown N. J. He was a long time resident of Irwin, Pa. where he was a charter member of the West Hempfield United Presbyterian Church. Member of Lodge No. 750 F & A.M. of Jeannette. Also a 32nd Degree Mason. Active in the Boy Scouts of America. Also a resident of Indian Lake where he served on borough council for 10 years. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date under the direction of the Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Somerset.
