Lape, 69, of 119 Windsor Street, Philipsburg, died 11:50 p.m. Feb. 7, 1976, in the Philipsburg State General Hospital. He was a retired general foreman of the Philipsburg District of Penelec. He had served in that capacity from 1953 until retirement in 1972. He had been with Penelec 47 years, and formerly was with Penelec of Johnstown and Somerset. He was born Jan. 23, 1907, in Johnstown, a son of Royal G. and Pearl E. (Emert) Lape. He was married Sept. 1, 1928 at Greensburg to Pauline F. Walker, who preceded him in death in 1972. In 1974, he married Betty Walker, who survived him. He is also survived by his Mother of Tyrone, and these children: Mrs. A. J. Doris Barilar, Williamsport; Miss Shirley A. Lape, New York City; Mrs. William (Sandra) Foreman, Philipsburg; and eight grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father, one sister, and his first wife. A graduate of Johnstown High School and Coyne Electrical School of Chicago. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Philipsburg, and was past president of the board of trustees of the church. He was a member of the Reliance Fire Co., No. 1, The Kiwanis Post in Philipsburg, the BPOE of Punxsutawney No. 301; Somerset F. and A.M., 358, the Williamsport Consistory, the Jaffa Shrine and was past president of the Moshannon Valley Shrine Club. Services will be held at Dahlgren Funeral Home, Philipsburg, Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold J. Knepp officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park.
