Born Dec. 22, 1917 in Milford Township, Somerset County, son of Conrad Francis and Bertha Jane (Felton) Lape. Preceded in death by parents, sisters: Hazel Ringer, Irene Becker, and brother: Ray Lape. Survived by wife the former Ethel Mae Baker to whom he was married 63 years, children: Ronald C. Lape married to the former Linda Vitril of New Castle; Mrs. Lynn (Joyce M.) Richard of Simi Valley, Calif.; four grandchildren: Todd R. Lape of New Castle, Mrs. John (Lisa) Mazziotta and Mrs. Sal (Michelle) Messina both of Simi Valley, Calif., Kirk A. Lape and wife Jennifer of New Castle; great-grandchildren: Dylan and Joey Messina. Brother of George W. Lape of Chambersburg, Mrs. James (Blanche) Mock of Shippensburg, Mrs. Merle (Marie) Weyand of Rockwood and Melvin M. Lape of Rockwood. Member of Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church. Retired in 1980 as a Machine Lathe Operator with U.S. Steel Corp. Johnstown Works with 29 years of service. Member of FOE Aerie 1801 and United Steel Workers Local 1288. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Service will conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church, Somerset with the Rev. Dennis L. Doebler officiating. There will be viewing at the church one hour prior to the service.
