Lape, 49, of Richland died March 18, 2000 at home following a courageous battle against cancer. Born Jan. 12, 1951 in Somerset, son of David N. and Maxine (Lease) Lape. Preceded in death by father. Survived by mother, Somerset; wife the former Joyce A. (Padich) Grassa Lape, Richland; son Bruce M. Grassa, Sante Fe, N.M.; sister, Susan, wife of Robert Christner, Somerset; father and mother-in-law Joseph and Barbara Padich, Johnstown; sisters-in-law, Barbara L. Farren, Richland, Doris J., wife of James C. Kotch, Mt. Joy, Pa.; two nephews, three grand-nieces and three grand-nephews. A 1973 graduate of I.U.P., he was a Certified Public Accountant with Barnes Saly & Company LLP of Ferndale since 1973 becoming a partner in 1987. A member of A.I.C.P.A. and it's tax division, and the Pennsylvania Institute of C.P.A.'s. David was an avid golfer. A member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset, where service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday. The Rev. Robert Hoover, officiating. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Monday and 1-9 p.m. Tuesday at Moskal & Kennedy Colonial Funeral Home, Ohio Street and Highland Avenue where family and friends will gather at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
