Born May 2, 1918, in Cambria County, son of William H. and Nettie (Orris) Lape. Preceded in death by: parents, four sisters, four brothers and son-in-law William F. Rouser. Survived by wife, the former Martha A. Erisman; and these children: Ellwood W., married to the former Sylvia Brown, Orlando, Fla.; Larry R., married to the former Gwenna Pritts, Osterburg; Mary M., wife of James Robert Taylor, Sterling, Va.; Carolyn D. Rouser-Simko, Hollsopple RD 2; and 9 grandchildren. He was a brother of Blanche Blough, wife of Wilbert W., Johnstown. He was a member of Dunmyer Lutheran Church, Schoolhouse Road; the V.F.W., Hollsopple; the United Ostemy Association, Johnstown; and the credit union. He was a Navy veteran of WW II where he served on an aircraft carrier. He was retired from U.S. Steel as a moulder after 36 years. Death breaks marriage union of 46 years. Family receiving friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Davidsville. Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Dunmyer Lutheran Church where remains will lie in state from 10 a.m. until time of service, the Rev. Denise Dahlke officiating. Interment, Richland Cemetery.
