Born July 21, 1917, in Somerset Township, a son of Milton A. and Margie Viola (Stahl) Baker. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Clarence Henry Lape, who died July 30, 2002; and brother, Elwood Baker. Survived by children, Ronald C. Lape, married to the former Linda Vitril, New Castle; Mrs. Lynn (Joyce M.) Richard, Simi Valley, Calif.; four grandchildren, Todd R. Lape and wife Kathryn, Oil City; Mrs. John (Lisa) Mazziotta, Mrs. Sal (Michelle) Messina, both of Simi Valley, Calif.; Kirk A. Lape and wife Jennifer, New Castle; and great-grandchildren, Dylan and Joey Messina, Tyler and Alissa Mazziotta, Nadia and Natalie Lape and Abigail Lape. Also survived by sister Mrs. Jack (Hazel Ruth) Suder, California. A 1935 graduate of Somerset High School and a graduate of the Indiana Teachers College. Also a member of Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church. A life member of the Pa. and Somerset County Teacher Associations. Her love of children and teaching made it difficult for her to retire. She retired from Somerset School District, Maple Ridge Elementary in 1980 with 32 years of service. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, and from noon until 1 p.m., the time of service, Monday at Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church. The Rev.
