Lape, 78, Stoystown RD 1, died Sept. 17, 1975 at Hillview Nursing Home, Altoona. Born Oct. 2, 1896 in Jenner Township, a son of Peter and Wilhelmina Boyer Lape. Preceded in death by parents, first wife the former Gladys Walker, an infant son and an infant daughter, a brother A.O. (Gus) Lape and a sister Pearl Lape. Survived by second wife the former Elizabeth Blanset; two sons, John Peter Lape, Heathville, Va., and Lon A. Lape, Alexandria, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Brennan, Jenners; two step-children Ralph Blanset, Stoystown, and Mrs. Doris J. Bassler, Ligonier; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild and six step-grandchildren. Member of Grace Lutheran Church Stoystown, Local 923 Kittaning, UMW of A, Post 918 American Legion, Elderton; Jenner Rod and Gun Club, Jenner Community Club; Senior Citizens and AARP, Somerset. Veteran of World War I. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Joseph H. Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev.
