Lape, 87, of Marker Drive, Somerset, died Sept. 24, 1984, at Somerset Community Hospital. Born Sept. 19, 1897, in Black Township, son of the late Levi and Elizabeth (Young) Lape. Also preceded by three brothers and three sisters. Survived by wife, the former Edna Mildred Landis; a son, Ray of Somerset; these grandchildren: Ray Jr., Somerset RD 6; Jay M., Somerset; Evelyn Swank, Warren, Ohio; Wilma Jean Miller, Columbus, Ohio; Dale, Gray; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. He was a brother of Calvin, Sarasota, Fla.; Mary, Berlin; and Frieda Sevits, Townville, Pa. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and F.O.E. Retiree of Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. Death ends a marriage of 67 years. Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home where service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev. William Mulford officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Daily American, September 25, 1984 [L0266]
