  Robert F. Lape, 48, of Stepping Stones Road, Somerset RD 5, died Dec.
  7, 1987, at his residence.  Born March 29, 1939, in Rockwood, son of
  Freeman "Sammy" Lape of Somerset RD 8 and the late Minnie Mae
  (Eppley) Lape.  Preceded in death by one son, Robert Scott Lape. 
  Survived by his wife, the former Virginia Hernley; and these
  children: Mrs. Pete (Teresa) Peiffer, Brandon, Vt.; Gary Lee, Amy
  Lynn and Melissa Ann, all at home; one grandson, David Lape.  A
  brother of: Mrs. Thomas L. (Dorothy) Baer, Somerset RD 4; Mrs. Garth
  (Shirley) Burghard, Tyrone, Pa.; and Mrs. Max (Jean) Young,
  Somerset.  He was a welder for Delta Mining Company, member of First
  Christian Church and a 1957 graduate of Somerset High School. 
  Friends were received 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and will be received 2-4 and
  7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home where service
  will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Roy Worsham
  officiating.  Interment, St. John's Cemetery.  Memorial contributions
  may be made to the Somerset Hospital "In Touch" Hospice Care Unit.
