He is survived by his wife, Janet; eight children, Clint (Judy) Lapina of Littleton, Colo.; Jeanette (Stan) Wojcik of Griffith, Ind.; Debi (John) Rice of Crown Point; Eddie (Janie) Lapina of St. John, Ind.; David (Melinda) Lapina of Lakeland, Fla.; Pete (Beth) Lapina of Chattanooga, Tenn.; Donna (Scott) Dyer of Lowell, Ind.; Dan (Sherrie) Lapina of Orlando, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Blucas of Fort Collins, Colo. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the First Baptist Church, Hammond, Ind., with the Dr. Jack Hyles, Dr. Johnny Holsten and Dr. Eddie Lapina officiating. Burial will be at Memory Lane Memorial Park, Schererville, Ind. Mr. Lapina was born in Quecreek, Pa., Nov. 1, 1929, to Peter P. and Josephine Baronia Lapina, Sr. He had been a resident of the Calumet area for 42 years. He was employed at Northern Indiana Docks for 20 years as a crane operator and was a member of Teamsters Local 412. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hammond, where he taught Sunday school in Junior No. 1 Dept. and was a bus captain for 10 years.
