Charles Conrad Lapp Sr., 65, formerly of Corriganville, Md., died Friday, Sept. 2, 1988, at his home. Born May 30, 1923, in Ellerslie, Md., he was the son of the late Clarence and Mary Lapp. He was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin University and served with the Army in Europe during World War II. He moved to the Washington, D.C. area in 1946 and was employed as office manager with Kane Transfer Company. He retired as the assistant chief loan and operations manager for the southwest region of Royal Electrification Administration in 1985. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his widow, Mary Lapp, Silver Spring, Md.; one son, Charles C. Lapp Jr., Silver Spring, Md.; one daughter, Cynthia Ponto, Brookfield, Md.; one brother, Ralph A. Lapp, Brookfield, Md.; four sisters, Mary Smelson, Grantsville, Md.; Louise Morgan, Corriganville, Md.; Kathleen Pick, Hyndman; and Charlotte Penbrook, Baltimore, Md.; and four grandchildren. Services were conducted Tuesday, Sept. 6, at the Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, Silver Spring, Md. Interment, Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Chellenham. The Republic, September 22, 1988 [L0291]
