Lapp, 42, of RD 2 Accident, Maryland, died Monday, February 18, 1985, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Maryland, after suffering a stroke. Born in Frostburg, Maryland, he was the son of Mrs. Virginia (Tharp) Lapp Butler, Grantsville, Maryland and the late George Lapp. He was employed as a shop foreman by the Garrett County Roads Department. He served as an Air Force staff sergeant during the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War, and was a member of State Line United Methodist Church and Accident Post 208, American Legion. Surviving besides his mother are his widow, the former Donna Rogers; his stepfather, Everett Butler; one son, Eric Lapp, and two daughters, Melissa Lapp and Angela Lapp, all at home; five brothers, George Lapp, Larry Lapp and Robert Lapp, all of Grantsville, Maryland; John Lapp, Finzel, Maryland; Kedrick Lapp, Springs; two sisters, Miss Sandra K. Lapp, Cumberland, Maryland; Mrs. Margaret Foy, Grantsville, Maryland. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Maryland, Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Stephen Durr and the Rev. Oren Bender officiating. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Wayne Murray, Glenn Kolbfleisch Jr., Paul Bittinger, Joseph DeWitt, Ernest Bowser and Joseph Leonard. The Republic, February 21, 1985 [L0294]
