LARSON George John (Whitey) Larson, 77, of Fairhope, died April 1, 1974, in the Altoona VA Hospital. Born in McKessport, he was a son of the late John Isreal and Hulda (Petterson) Larson. A retired steel mill worker, he served with the U.S. Army during World War I, and was a member of the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club and Oscar Jordan Post 7375, VFW, of Hyndman. Surviving are his wife, the former Violet Emerick; three sons, Albert Larson, Fairhope; Charles Larson, St. Paul, Minn.; and Ralph Larson of Chambersburg; five daughters, Mrs. Jerry Miller, Stoystown; Mrs. Charles Pensyl, Baltimore, Md.; Mrs. Glenn Emerick, Fort Lewis, Wash.; Mrs. Ronald Manges, Hyndman; and Mrs. Walter Leydig, Fairhope; also a brother, William T. Larson of Chicago. Funeral service was conducted Wednesday afternoon in Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, with Rev. Leroy Logsdon officiating. Interment in Hyndman Cemetery.
