LaRue, 87, of Meyersdale, died Oct. 30, 2003 in the Goodwill Mennonite Nursing Home, Grantsville, Md. She was born April 14, 1916 in Summit Township, daughter of the late Samuel Firl and Ida (Maust) Firl. She was preceded in death by husband, Merle LaRue in 1955. She is survived by five children: Philip LaRue and Samuel LaRue of Meyersdale, Janet Speelman of Akron, Ohio, Gloria Tressler of Alexandria, Va. And Connie Stiger of Springfield; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Ethel Gnagey and Mary Yoder and brother Carl Firl, all of Meyersdale. She was a member of Amity UCC. Friends will be received Saturday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Leckemby Funeral Home where the services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
