Lasky (Laskowski) 79, of Penn Avenue, Boswell RD, died Jan. 23, 2000, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born March 2, 1920, in Windber, son of Ignacy and Camilla (Kozlosky) Laskowski. Preceded in death by parents, daughter Diane Kovach in 1993, sisters Katherine Moszcynski and Ann Phillips and brothers Joseph and Stanley "Piney" Sr. Survived by wife, the former Frances Runtz: children Carol Sotosky and Henry A., both at home, and Robert C., married to Tammy Furman, Nanty Glo RD; 12 grandchildren, including Christopher Lasky, who lived at home; and one great-grandson,. Also survived by son-in-law, Anthony Kovach, Uniontown; and sisters Sophia, widow of Edgar Gaubert, Levittown, N.Y.; Helen, widow of Joseph Madey, Windber; Louise, widow of Robert Curtis, Palmdale, Calif.; and Mary Ann, Los Angeles, Calif. Member of All Saints Catholic Parish and Our Lady of the Laurel Highlands Council 8908, Knights of Columbus. Charter member of the Boswell Athletic and Sportsman's Association. Army veteran of World War II. Former coal miner and self-employed truck driver. An avid fisherman. Observed 55th wedding anniversary Aug. 26, 1999. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where a vigil for the deceased will be held Wednesday afternoon. Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. Thursday at All Saints Church Boswell, the Rev. Father Martin Breski OFM Conv. celebrant. Committal, St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Boswell.
